Dunmow Waste Management has created this easy to understand, infographic to highlight the recycling rates of municipal waste in countries throughout Europe. We also take a look at the EU recycling rate targets set out for all member states. The infographic also explains what recycling rate is, what the EU targets are and how the UK is performing. Moreover, the infographic compares the best and worst performing EU countries. It is estimated that the total waste from UK households in 2014 was 26.8 million tonnes. It is an interesting fact that a single recycled plastic bottle can power a lightbulb for three hours. Also, a single recycled tin can could power a TV for three hours!
