To celebrate Toyota’s influence on the world we live in today, this infographic charts the key milestones in the development of the Toyota Production System and Lean, as well as Toyota’s more recent ventures into hybrid technology, robotics, and artificial intelligence.
The infographic illustrates a timeline showing the remarkable technologies developed by Toyota through the years. From the invention of the automatic loom to truck production, Toyota changes the industry and the world. In 1947, Toyota built its 100,000th vehicle.
Toyota lays the foundations for a new system of manufacturing vehicles, which later became renowned as the Toyota Production System (TPS). Between 1980-2000 the interest in the Toyota Production System and Lean management begins to grow in the US. Later on, in 1999 Toyota produced its 100 millionth vehicle in Japan!
