Rewire Security have recently conducted research on the statistics of
Missing Children in the UK and have created an
infographic to increase public awareness on this serious issue.
According to the infographic,180,000 people are reported missing every year, 95.000 of them are adults and 80,000 are children.
What is more, 250,000 children are reported missing every year in the EU 1 child every 2 minutes. There are currently about 3,000 people in the UK who have been missing for more than 10 years.
Children running away of forced out of home or care institutions were between the ages of 5 and 17 years old, with the highest number of children reported running away at the age of 15.
