According to the infographic, the first major event in the history of the Internet was the launch of the USSR Sputnik into space. Furthermore, the Bell Lab modem and the creation of ARPA traced the development of the internet. In the 1960s, the first wide-area network was created, and first data packets sent. Later on, during the 1970s was made the first international APRAnet connection made with University College London. Furthermore, the domain name systems were invented, and the World Wide Web was born. The Internet Boom in the 1990s was the time when well-known sites today such as Amazon, Ebay, Craigslist came into existence.
