How Do Misconceptions Of The Perfect Body Type Influence Girls

This infographic was created to pinpoint major influences in the world around us that have an effect on the way women view themselves. Once we uncover the source of the problem, we can begin to repair the negative effects it has on our self-esteem and see great changes in our overall well-being. As we criticize and compare ourselves to other women, we damage our confidence and make decisions based on self-imposed negative views of ourselves. A study found how the style of exposure to idealized body images changes how people feel about the brand and themselves. Furthermore, Miss America's average BMI in the 1920's was around 22 but in the 2000's was around 16.9! Obviously, the winner's BMI average has dropped to unhealthy levels. Natural body type is something we cannot change; we can greatly benefit from learning self-acceptance and developing a positive body image.
