Widespread adoption of public, private and hybrid cloud computing is ushering in a new age of efficiency in IT, one which is driving down costs through massive scale and high utilization rates. Storage, networking, and computing are faster, denser, and more efficient than ever before. According to the infographic, 93% of companies are currently using some form of cloud services and 82% of companies have a hybrid cloud adoption strategy. Cloud efficiency comes from 4 key technologies: virtualization, open source software and white box hardware along with data reduction. However, seems that cloud data centers are approaching density limits. Cloud data centers are driving high density computing to its physical and electrical limit. Massive construction costs and enormous operational expenses propel the need for cloud efficiency.
